Improve mental health in Chelmsford and the Essex area

“When we are no longer able to change a situation – we are challenged to change ourselves.”

Viktor E. Franki

Every human being is unique, and I believe that therapy should be equally unique. Therapy works best when the evidence base is used to build a personalised dynamic therapy which is created together between two human beings. I have many years of experience and extensive training, but it is also important to remember that you are the expert on you.

Hi, I’m Dr Jackie Edwards, a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Consultant Psychotherapist

Helping to Improve Mental Health –   I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. I have more than 25 years of experience working in the NHS with adults with complex psychological and mental health issues. I’m trained to doctoral level in a variety of therapeutic approaches and have post graduate training in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have had a small private practice alongside my NHS role since 2016. However, I became increasingly aware of how difficult it is for people to find Psychologists (both in the NHS and in the private sector) willing and able to work in a creative and timely way with complex psychological difficulties.  I decided to leave the NHS in 2022 to focus on work as an independent practitioner. Providing high quality face-to-face services in the Chelmsford area and across the UK via video call. My particular area of interest is in working with complex trauma and dissociation.
